New Freebie for Fall....

Hello my friends!

Fall is just around the corner... 

the leaves are starting to fall in my yard (despite the 90 degree temps.) 

and my girls are back in school!!! 

Woohoo! 

I can now complete an uninterrupted thought... 

walk through the house in perfect quiet... 

wash the dishes and have the sink stay empty (at least until 3:30). 

Ah, fall. Soon we will be carving pumpkins, raking, looking for Halloween costumes, etc., etc.

I am so happy to offer a new Autumn freebie. 

It's the third in this series... I guess winter is next.... but I don't want to even think about that just yet!

We are all beautiful!

Another non-stitching post... BUT - it occurred to me today...

We are ALL beautiful women!

Below is a picture taken this summer at our local street fest of:

my sister (left), 17 year old daughter (middle) and me (the short one on the right).

Under that... is my 10 year old daughter....

Under that... is my mom....

Seeing these, it occurred to me that no matter what shape, size, age, weight, color... we are all beautiful!

Don't believe what you see in magazines - it's fake and airbrushed.
Don't obsess over what you see on TV or in movies - they have plenty of paid employees just to make them look good.

We are REAL women!
And - dang - we look good - extra pounds, gray hair, wrinkles, cooked teeth and all!

Our differences (and similarities) and imperfections (and our beauty) are what make us special, unique! 

So very cool!

Here's to all of us womenfolk! We rock!

PS - This, by no means, means that men are any different! 

They, too, struggle with some of the same issues as women, and, 

they too are beautiful in their unique qualities as as well!

My Hubbie!

Here is a fun link to see my funky bass playin' hubby at our Athens Annual Boogie on the Bricks 

(an outdoor festival where we shut down our main street in Athens to fill it with beer gardens, people young & old, face painting, balloons, etc.)

So Much Summer Fun!

My guy is the first you see, the one all the way on the left
with sunglasses on his head, dancing in a quirky fashion, an occasional goofy grin

and playing the funky blues bass guitar.

I am still in summer mode - love the sun - but many are thinking fall already - and that's great - I love fall too!

More sneaky peeks

Hello!

Hope the start of summer has been a good one for you all! 

I've been trying to adjust to having my girls home all day... it's been an interesting experience thus far! 

It's been hot here, in the 90's most days, which makes me wonder.... what August will be like!?! 

But - I love the sunshine and am blessed to have air conditioning after living for 10 years in a house without! 

I remember sitting with my feet in pans of ice water just to stay cool. I am grateful each day for my AC!

Here is another sneak peek. I will have several new designs soon. I've also started stitching my Halloween/Autumn designs which feels a bit strange when it's so hot and summery.

My wonderful website has been running smoothly for years now,

New Cross Stitch Freebie! I'm Lovin' Spring!

NEWS... no eBay - yes Etsy!

Hello all, I hope this fine Friday finds you well! It is beautiful here in Ohio!

I just wanted to pass along some news. I am closing the doors on my eBay store. It is sad, sniff, as I have had my little eBay shop for years.

The folks at eBay have implemented a sudden and drastic price increase. I just couldn't believe my eyes after years of giving them repeat business.... well, I just don't want to support that. I suppose I may occasionally list a new releases there, but my shop will be no more. Greed is a sad thing.

Anyhoo - I do want to support Etsy. For those of you who purchase my designs through eBay, but are unfamiliar with Etsy, let me tell you that it is very similar, easy to use and safe, and you can still use PayPal. I think you'll be very pleased. Feel free to have a look - www.etsy.com/shop/stitcherhood - they have so many talented artists it's mind boggling.

Looking for pictures....

Hi everyone!

I am looking for pictures of finishes of my designs if any of you have some (or know of anyone else??). I am going to be adding a "gallery" page to my website, so any pictures would be appreciated. They can be of any of my designs, freebies as well. I have quite a few already, and am always amazed at the creativity!

Also - I am getting closer every day to hitting the big 100 for followers. Once I get there, I will be holding a drawing for some free designs. If you know any stitchers (or dancers, readers, musicians, or anyone), ask them to sign up to follow. Then I'll put anyone who is interested into a hat (their names... not them) and give away some free designs.

Should be fun!

Thinking Spring.... New Freebie!

February is finally over. Here in my tiny part of Ohio, we broke the all time snowfall record in recorded history for Feb. snow totals. Ick - but - it is officially March, and while it is still quite snowy and cold here, just the word "March" makes me feel so much happier! It least it sounds like spring even if it doesn't look or feel like it yet!

New Etsy Shop!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. It is snowing again here. We are at our second highest ever snow amounts in history for February.... and it isn't over yet!

I've been trying to stay busy... working on new designs and an Easter/Spring freebie to be released soon. I also decided to try my hand at an Etsy shop! I like the idea of an eBay type website but focusing on vintage/handmade/art type items.

Florida!

Hello all!

I am back from a family visit to Florida, having fun and visiting the in-laws! While it was a bit chilly there, it was soooo nice to escape the snow & cold for a bit (see last post... ug). I do miss the sunshine. Winter here has been a black & white world where the sky above exactly matches the cement below.

The first picture is of my 2 girls & their dad being goofy & barefoot at CoCoa beach. Oh how I love the beach!! Second is my youngest and her dad in front of the Disney castle.

I guess now it's back to reality!   : )
